Princeton Packet Magazine
In the spring of 2005, the Princeton Packet featured a cover story in the Spring Home & Garden Magazine about a new business relationship between Ronni and Gladys Collazo, owner of Action Lawn Service, Inc. The article also provides more insight into Ronni's background and credentials:
"After I met my husband (Randy), I knew my modeling career was really over. We wanted to have a family and I wanted to do something down to earth. Boy, did I get into the earth!"
The Hocks moved to Edison, and Mrs. Hock began dabbling in backyard gardening. Like a healthy plant, that interest took firm root in 1996 when they moved to West Chester, PA and lived 10 minutes away from renowned Longwood Gardens. It was there that Ms. Hock received her first formal education in landscaping by attending classes and lectures.
In August 1998, a move to Lawrenceville proved a step in the right direction - Ms. Hock started working at various garden centers in the area, honing her knowledge and developing creative thoughts. Ronni was a graduate of the Rutgers Master Gardeners Program in 2001. She began working as the annual buyer at a local nursery & landscape service in Princeton. She was also asked to design the holiday decorations for Princeton University's Lowrie House- the home of the university president - for six seasons.
By 2003, Ms. Hock took the knowledge she amassed from self-teachings, Longwood Gardens, the Master Gardener’s program and various garden centers to open Ronni Hock Garden Design.
"I have a very strong education in gardens and perennial gardens', said Mrs. Hock, who searches for appropriate plants in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut."
